Healthier hearts' for cat owners
Cat owners appear to have a much lower risk of dying from a heart attack than their feline-spurning counterparts, a study suggests.Researchers looked at nearly 4,500 adults and found that cat ownership was related to a 40% lower risk of suffering a fatal heart attack. The team speculated that having a cat may reduce stress and anxiety, and so protect against cardiovascular disease.

I knew there was a reason we let our lives be controlled by our two terrors, Zac and Cleo. Maybe having two means that we will never die at all? I'll let you know.

I was going to say- surely it depends on your cat as to how stressful and anxious it makes you? Didn't we have friends who took theirs to a cat-shrink?
Nice new layout, btw!
Hello T
I'm sure the cats are glad to see you too, and that their hearts will last longer for having cat loving owners!
I must say though, I came close to strangling mine, when we came beak from holiday to find our house sitter had inadvertently left the cat for 24 hrs, with the run of the whole house, bedrooms and all.
No details... but the insurance company did send someone to check why we needed to suddenly replace two double beds and one single, plus all the bedding.
I love him really... but he nearly gave me a heart attack!
Hello Tania
Lovely new look to the blog. The photo is great!
Welcome back, looking forward to hearing how the travels went,

Hello Tafka - yep, ;), you are quite right! This was supposed to be a very tongue-in-cheek post by me. Glad you like the layout - it is to match the redesign of my website, go have a look www.taniahershman.com.
V - yes, I remember you telling me about that incident, but perhaps the joy of the cat after that did something to balance out the stress!
WRW - thanks, glad to be back. You like the pic? Good author photo??
Yes, I do like 'friendly' author photos, I must say.
Also CURRENT ones. How many authors have photos of themselves that are ten years out of date?! Is it some sort of misplaced vanity or can they just not be bothered? It bothers me...
